One tool that should be in any modeler’s tool box these days is that of a sprue cutter. Sprue cutters are the key to removing parts cleanly from the plastic "trees" to which they are attached. Such a simple tool they save you from possible broken parts due to tearing and twisting the parts away. Cutting the parts away from the tree ensures that the work of filling extra holes and additional cleanup is greatly avoided.
